Joseph Watts established Watts Regulator Company in 1874 and the company grew its reputation by creating and manufacturing pressure-reducing valves used for regulating relief valves on water heaters and boilers. By the early 1900’s, Watts designed and built T&P valves, which combined the monitoring of both pressure and temperature. Heating systems today still use these valves. In the 1970’s, Watts developed backflow prevention devices and leads the market even today. Watts is now part of Watts Water Technology with plants and offices in North America, Europe, and Asia.
