Grundfos Pumps is proud to bring the comfort and savings of hot water recirculation to the existing homes market with the Comfort Series Instant Hot Water System. The Comfort System includes a Grundfos UP15-10SU7/TLC circulator and the revolutionary Comfort Valve. The stainless steel circulator, complete with timer and 10-foot power cord, is installed directly to the hot water discharge on the water heater. The Comfort Valve is installed under the sink at the fixture furthest from the water heater, and the system uses the existing cold water line to return hot water to the water heater.
The Comfort System is designed to give homeowners the added comfort and convenience of instant hot water and reduce the amount of wasted water. Unlike our competitor's products, there are no pumps under sinks (and thus no power required under sinks), no return lines required, and no buttons to push. Set the timer on the Grundfos pump and stop waiting for hot water.
The Comfort valve is installed at the furthest fixture from the hot-water tank. With a built-in timer, the pump allows hot water to circulate along the loop through the valve using the cold-water side as a return line. As the temperature rises to 100 °F, the valve closes directing hot water to the tap, resulting in a constant availability of hot water.
Had a water heating problem in our new retirement home. The H2O heater was located about as far as possible from our master bath! Took forever to get hot water. This pump solved the problem.
Our townhouse has a cement slab floor with buried water lines. The hot water faucet was running icy cold. We were getting tired of dumping 3 or 4 gallons of water down the drain while waiting for hot water at the kitchen tap. As soon as we turned the faucet off, the water in the line would cool off and the whole warming process had to be repeated. After installing this unit there is comfortably warm water almost instantly.
Worked great for 30 months; $545 (w/ labor)=$18.17/month; not sure it is worth the trouble and cost if it only lasts a few years;
Shipping are recieval was a little to long......
It works as promised
Read installation specs to see if this item is for your application. Nice product.
Worked exactly how it was supposed to.
Highly recommend. Solves the problem of long wait for hot water in long hot water runs without major plumbing rework.
Easy to install for the moderate DIY'er.
Used to wait 2 minutes for hot water in bathroom in opposite corner from HW tank. Now it's virtually instant. This pump is the way to go. Took about an hour to install both the pump and the valve at the far water use point. Have all your fittings and hoses figured out and installation goes quick. I did have to purchase hoses and thread adapters as the ones that came with it were the wrong size for my faucet and remote valve. I purchased them from DoItBest on line. Works great and I highly recommend it if you're waiting on hot water to arrive.
Before installing the pump we wasted a lot of water and energy waiting for the water in the far bathroom to get hot. Now the water runs hot in a few seconds. (If I insulated the crawl space pipes it would probably be hot instantly.) The timer feature is great.
Owners manual should give troubleshooting instructions. My original pump (installed 6 yrs ago)stopped producing hot water to the faucets in a timely manner. I installed a new pump only to find out that the problem was with the valve itself, not the pump. I could not find any troubleshooting instructions in the manual or on their website, or on Utube.
The pump works very well and it is quitter than a previous Grundfos pump.As far as the additional valve that comes in the in kit, in my opinion it is a waste of time as the pump does not need this to operate. For this valve you will be required to purchase additional hoses (x2 1/2" NPT x 3/8" compression flex hoses). Also, more than likely you will be required to buy additional adapters for the valve to ensure your existing 1/2" NPT x 3/8" hoses will connect to the valve. The part number is Delta Model # RP63263 Supply Stop Assembly for DST. This information is not included on the item description. However, after you purchase the pump, it is a surprise to find this information on the installation instructions - a bit too late!. In summary I would just purchase the pump by itself without the valve kit.
Much needed product for conserving water in California. Really easy to install. Faucet Depot carries top quality products.
Great service was delivered in short amount of time
This device allows hot water to be available instantly in bathrooms that previously would take 65 seconds to get hot water.
To get hot water to fr Ed of house.
Immediate hot water, I love it! I haven't been using this for even a week yet, but it was easy to install, works well, and seemms to be very well designed and manufactured.
Installed this pump on water heater and two sets of valves under the kitchen and bathroom sinks. Instead of hot water in 3 minutes we now get it in about 10 seconds. I do not run mine all the time. Purchased and electric outlet receiver that turns the electric on and off to the pump.Outlet comes with 2 remotes so we just turn on the power to the outlet a couple of minutes before we shower, do laundry or use the dishwasher. Perhaps on a couple of hours a day.
Added unions and a check valve - did find it best to use teflon tape and pipe dope on all connections to prevent any leaks
Immediate difference after installing. No more wait for hot water. Should have purchased this recirc pump long ago.
The master bath is the furthest from the hot water heater. This pump changed the warm water cycle time from 2.5 min to 5 seconds. The hot water still takes about 1 minute but the shower is comfortable to stand under within 5 seconds on a cold day.
It used to take 2-3 minutes before any warm water would reach my bathroom. Countless gallons of water was wasted every day.I bought the Grundfos circulation pump and it arrived after a couple of days. Installation was easy, especially thanks to the detailed instructions that followed. I did not have to install a new water-line between the wall and the tank, as the old one was flexible enough to bend enough to let pump install.Total installation time: about 90 minutes. I set the timer so the pump runs from 7-noon and again a few hours in the evening. Love it! Warm (not hot) water now reaches the bathrooms in 10 seconds. The kitchen faucet did not see an improvement, must be on a separate line. Best thing was that my city gives a credit toward the installation of water-saving devices and this almost pays for the pump.I needed a copy of my invoice and Nicole from Faucetdepot sent me one within minutes, after I initiated a chat on the website. Good service. Would shop here again.
