This is a good unit.

I see all the poor reviews, yes the initial roll out NRCP 1112's did have a program error in the circuit board. Noritz sent a new circuit board for the unit at no charge, and they did pay for me to replace circuit board. I also installed one in my own home, it has been in operation now for almost 2 years and has been flawless. I am a plumbing contractor and have been installing various Noritz Tankless water heaters for over a decade. I have had no problems with Noritz not taking care of me or my customers. Note: A Plumbing professional really needs to know how to install these units correctly. I have seen far to many installs that are not even close to right. Do your home work before hiring a plumber to install one, do not try and install one your self. They are a very technical appliance, most all require 3/4" gas line and sometimes main gas lines have to be resized for the demand of what this 199,000 BTU models pull. I hope who ever reads this finds it helpful.

Defective - avoid at all costs

I know I'm echoing what other reviewers have said, I've been dealing with this nightmare for over a year. After having talked to a plumber (who has now pulled the product line and won't install them), I realize all of these shipped with multiple defective parts and Noritz will NOT pay to fix them. There was a bad circuit board in all units ($350 out of pocket - even though it was less than a year after installation) and a few months later a recirculation pump has gone bad - still waiting to see what that will cost me. They just don't work, Noritz knows they don't work, and they just don't care. Do not do business with them - they make poor quality products and don't stand behind them (can't imagine why!). Tech support is non-existent.

About tankless heatera

To STM, San Francisco: If a tankless water heater isn't putting hot water out, it's because it's starving for gas. That's the #1 problem. When in doubt, up size the gas run, to the heater. Just saying. Just in the past 3 weeks, I've installed 5 1112's (SoCal). Many more before that. Only time I've ever had a problem, was when I forgot to open the gas all the way. Homeowners called the next morning upset about the heater. Water would only get lukewarm. Went there, and found the gas valve bot open fully. Silly me! Anyways, just thought I'd give me ΒΆ2.....

Stay away

My contractor recommended a tankless hot water heater and told me this was the top of the line. Well, I am taking it out. Noritz should change its slogan to "No Hot Water". Water takes forever to heat up and when it does, the temp fluctuates. It is expensive and you end up covered with goose bumps. Stay away. Noritz and its dealers should be ashamed to sell this to homeowners.

Don't even think about buying this unit!

Noritz peoducts used to be great. Now they're junk! All plastic and stainless instead of steel and copper. This new unit malfunctioned out of the box, a "new" circuit board did not fix the issue. Noritz is releasing products on the public with no serious R&D and testing. This unit is defective by design. After it was "fixed" it froze and cracked twice in one week. My family was without hot water for 12 out of 14 days while Noritz was closed for weekends and holidays and didn't care about helping the customer at all. They finally gave me a new (2 year-old design) model NRC1111 to replace my newer (and more expensive) NRCP1112. In addition to bad products, Noritz support is now worse! They should be there to answer the phones and offer help 24 X 7 X 365 and they're lucky to be there 9-5 M-F. BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT BUY THIS OR ANY NORITZ PRODUCT EVER!
